Can you download videos from Instagram?
Instagram doesn't give you a built-in download button for other people's posts — you can only save your own content directly, or bookmark others' posts to a private in-app collection. To save a public video or Reel as an actual file on your device, you'll need a third-party downloader: paste the post's link in, and it resolves the file for you.
Things to keep in mind
- Only public posts can be downloaded this way — private accounts are, by design, not accessible to non-followers.
- Respect copyright: downloading a video doesn't give you the right to repost it as your own.
- A real downloader never asks for your Instagram username or password.
