Downloading Instagram videos on an iPhone can be tricky because iOS handles downloads differently from Android. Here's how to save an Instagram video or Reel to your camera roll without installing anything extra.
Step 1: Copy the post or Reel link
Tap the three dots on the post, then "Copy link" — this works from Instagram itself, or from wherever the link was shared (Messages, WhatsApp, etc.).
Step 2: Open the downloader in Safari
Open Safari (works better than most in-app browsers on iOS), paste the link into our downloader box, and tap Download.
Step 3: Save the video
- For streaming, tap Play to watch it right away.
- To save, tap the download link — iOS will ask where to save it.
- Choose Save to Files, or use the Share icon and pick Save Video to send it to your camera roll.
Why Safari works best
In-app browsers (like the one inside Instagram or Facebook) sometimes block downloads or drop the session. Opening the link in Safari avoids these issues on iPhone and iPad.
Tips
- If Save Video doesn't appear, save to Files first, then move it to Photos.
- Only public posts can be downloaded — private accounts aren't accessible without following them in the app.
- No Instagram account or login is needed for public posts.
